Daniel's Art
Art is the a way to collect the value of the physical world into a concentrated form of positive energy to those who choose to connect with it.
Everyday I feel a need to paint or draw and over time this desire to create has grown. The more I improve as an artist, the more confident I get and the more I feel driven to explore further.
In school I had to work independently. Mostly within the medium of oil painting, but with some supplementary drawing and colouring. Each new painting has taken me forward and given me an appreciation of the advantages of being part of a movement or group. Discussion with other artists can be invaluable. View points can be challenged, creating a new sense of direction. Sharing ideas with a group also leads to a new variety of techniques and ideas.
I never felt comfortable being dependent on a teacher for my painting and as such I tended more towards working independently. I have worked independently for the last few months and have come to value advice and criticism. Working with others can impose restrictions and even rules, but this can provide a positive structure in which to work. A group dynamic provides more opportunity to understand the framework and meaning of your work.
I believe that a good working environment should be one that gives me a chance to experiment in a variety of other mediums within art that I may otherwise not have the resources or inclination to enter into. Oil painting remains my main focus, but I hope to discover these other aspects of art, which will almost certainly help me improve as a painter too.
