Week 1 (ie next week)
Take four songs from the list and ensure that everyone has the same music to work from, for each of their chosen instrument.
From 1000 to 1200 – 30 mins each song. Play the melody, know the geography of the piece and any solos. Do not worry about intro's outro's — they come later.
Week 2
Another 4 songs, each 30 mins and again melody, geography, solos.
Week 3
Refresh yourselves over the last 8 songs for one hour and then add 2 more songs for the last hour.
Week 4
Play all 10 songs working on intro's and outro's.
Week 5
Another 2 songs plus going over some of the other 10 songs.
Week 6
Another 2 songs again going over songs learnt.
Week 7
Last 2 songs and playing as many of the other 14 songs that you have time for.
Week 8
16 tunes to practice — everyone will have music. Know the geography, know the intro and outro's and solos.
3rd Month
Practice what we have, after which you will have 16 well accomplished, rehearsed tunes which is sufficient for 2 hours of play, and as a group, you should be ready to play out.
With bari, tenor, alto or flute or clarinet you have sufficient to cover a whole realm of different tones, if rehearsed.
